Terms & Conditions
Important clinical consultation guidelines, appointment policies, and legal terms governing the medical practice of Dr. Smita Ramachandran.
Important Medical Care Notice
All information published on this website (drsmitaramachandran.com) is provided strictly for educational awareness and patient guidance regarding childhood hormone health. It does not replace individualized diagnostic evaluation, in-person clinical examination, or laboratory testing by a registered pediatric endocrinologist.
1 Scope of Specialized Services
Dr. Smita Ramachandran (MBBS, MD Pediatrics, FIPAE AHERF) provides specialized outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, dynamic hormone testing, and therapeutic management for infants, children, and adolescents suffering from endocrine conditions. Consultations are conducted across scheduled hospital OPD slots at Venkateshwar Hospital (Dwarka), BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital (Pusa Road), Triton Hospital (Kalkaji), and private clinic appointments at New Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi.
2 Mandatory Presence of Parent or Legal Guardian
Because our patients are infants, children, and minors under 18 years of age, a parent or authorized legal guardian must be present during every consultation (both in-person OPD visits and, where offered, online consultations). Informed consent for diagnostic hormone testing (such as Growth Hormone Stimulation, Synacthen test, GTT, or LH-RH stimulation) and initiation of hormone replacement therapy must be provided by the legal guardian.
3 Appointment Bookings & OPD Guidelines
- Booking Channels: Appointments may be booked through hospital desk links, our clinic helpline (+91 88268 85848), or via WhatsApp messaging (+91 88268 85848).
- Previous Records: Parents are requested to carry all historical pediatric health books, immunization cards, previous height/weight measurements, and recent laboratory investigation reports.
- Cancellations / Rescheduling: If you are unable to attend a booked appointment, please notify the desk at least 4 hours in advance so the slot can be offered to another child in need.
4 Emergency Situations & Acute Conditions
This website and its associated communication channels are designated for elective, scheduled outpatient care. In the event of an acute medical emergency – including suspected Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), severe hypoglycemic seizure, adrenal crisis, or acute respiratory distress – parents must immediately transport the child to the nearest 24-hour hospital emergency department or call national emergency services (112).
5 Prescription & Follow-up Protocol
Prescriptions for specialized medications (such as recombinant human growth hormone, thyroid hormone replacement, insulin regimens, or puberty suppressants) are issued solely after verified clinical consultation and periodic biochemical monitoring. Refills require scheduled follow-up evaluations to adjust doses according to the child's growing weight and dynamic metabolic response.
6 Intellectual Property & Educational Materials
All custom educational content, clinical guidelines, custom illustrations, and medical blog articles published on this website are the intellectual property of Dr. Smita Ramachandran. Reproduction or redistribution for commercial purposes without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.
7 Jurisdiction & Governing Law
These terms and conditions and all clinical services rendered are governed by the laws of India and medical codes established by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Any legal disputes shall be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.
8 Website Information, Chat Assistant & External Links
Using this website, the chat assistant or the blog does not create a doctor-patient relationship. The chat assistant gives general information only and cannot diagnose, prescribe or handle emergencies. Links to hospital sites, maps, WhatsApp and social media open services we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or policies.
9 No Guarantee of Outcomes
Every child responds differently to evaluation and treatment. Results depend on the individual condition, and no particular outcome can be guaranteed. Hospital OPD timings, availability and booking rules are set by each hospital and may change, so please confirm before you travel.
10 Changes to these Terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page, with the review date shown above, applies to your use of the website.
