Symptoms of early Puberty in Girls changes in
Tanner Scale

Before the test
The LH stimulation does not need any special preparation. The child does not need to be fasting before the test.
The test is done under supervision of your pediatric endocrinologist at the clinic/hospital.
How the Test is Done
- The test can take 4-5hours to be completed. The child was allowed to eat and drink during the course of testing.
- A cannula will be put in a vein and samples of LH, FSH, Estradiol or Testosterone will be drawn. After this the doctor will give the child an injection of Gnrh Analogue (this will be given subcutaneously – in the skin).
- Post this injection serial blood samples will be taken from the cannula after 1 hour and after 4 hours.
- Your child may need to go to a lab 24 hours later to get a blood test for estradiol or testosterone.
After the Test
Your child can eat regular foods and go back to their normal activities. It takes 1 week for the test results to come back. You should get in touch with your child’s doctor with the results, who will explain the plan for your child’s medical care based on the results of the test.
